Academy McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle MSIP II
Using eduards Big E photo etch Phil builds Academy's excellent F-15C kit.
Paints Used: Tamiya, Xtracrylix
Aftermarket Used: eduard Big Ed photo etch for the cockpit and engine afterburner cans.
|Part 1||Phil looks at the build ahead and starts work detailing the cockpit with the eduard photoetch set.|
|Part 2||Work continues on the cockpit and Phil starts work on making the intakes seamless.|
|Part 3||In this part the cockpit gets finished using Krystal Klear PVA glue to make the dials of the instruments look like glass, then the cockpit control systems are weathered using the Flory Models Light Dirt wash.|
|Part 4||Phil finishes off the cockpit by dry brushing the front instrument panel. The fuselage is closed up. The center seam on the canopy is polished out.|
|Part 5||The fuselage and wings are brought together. Phil demonstrates how to use Mr Surfacer to fill the seams then uses Iso Propyl Alcohol (IPA) to smooth the filled seams without resorting to sanding or lacquer thinners.|
